| Karee Kloof is a new private
nature reserve covering 7000 hectares. Various animals will be introduced over
time, and emphasis will be on natural medicinal herbs from the area, including
Cancer Bush, Buchu, and Rooibos.
Karee Kloof is a member of the Swartruggens
Conservancy. The vegetation types are Fynbos, the Succulent and Tanqua Karoo. It boasts well over 200 plant species,
including many Proteas and Ericas. There are over 80 bird species, including the
Orangebreasted and Cape Sunbirds, Black
Harrier, Black Korhaan, Black Eagle and Pale Chanting Goshawk.
